lol @ u ([info]ex_zarathus122) wrote in [info]are_you_unique,

Why hello there!

1)Name: Nick.
2)Age: 16ish.
3)Where are you from? Sydney, Australia. Beyonce Knowles didn't even know where Australia is... do you?
4)What do you do as a living? Why do you do what you do? If you're in school, what do you want to do after school? Well, I'm still in school but I plan to get crazy high marks so I can become a Human Rights lawyer. I visited the Holocaust Museum in... New York or DC, I forgets... and that left me shellshocked for five hours. Anything I can do to stop anything like that happening again (Rwanda, Darfur...) ish good. Failing that, there's always my writing to fall back on, which is good too.
5)What do you like to do in your spare time? You'll find me on teh compy almost all the time, when I'm not, I'm either at aikido or visiting my girlfriend. Writing is done on the computer almost all the time too.
6)What do you consider to be unique? How do you qualify as unique by your definition?

First Part: What is unique by my standards? It's not hard really, but for others it's nigh-on impossible. It's in genetics really, but then again you rely on nurture, but more a personal nurture than anything that someone else gives you. Unique involves these three qualities: Finesse, Adaptation and Glory. Finesse is simply doing everything that you do in a way that makes other people notice, either with wonderment, distaste or simple curiosity. As long as you get someone interested for a good 10 seconds when you do something, that's a sign of finesse. Adaptation is taking every situation that comes along and making it suit your personal goals. To be unique, you must handle problems in your own way. Lastly, glory is tied to finesse, but you have to make sure that the special, unique, individual parts of your personality are impressed upon the world, not just the passing individual, for a long time - preferably an eternity.

Second Part: Why am I unique? Well, I'm internationally known as the Legendary Eccentric for a few good reasons:
a. I hate Postmodernism, I can write poetry in rhyme and meter unlike the f***ing postmodernists and I think I am so good that I can usher in a new age of literary criticism.
b. I am a Buddhist, though no monk, and I should be keeping a calm view of things, but if anyone insults Paris Hilton I shall wail on their faces.
c. My accent changes with my mood and where I am.
d. I invented the phrase "I see" as well as "Asshat" and "Sex me now". If anyone disputes this, see point B
e. I am a character study in arrogance, sarcasm and shameless womanizing but people still manage to put up with me long enough to have a conversation. Odd, isn't it?

7)Name a well-known person that you think is unique - why are they unique? Well known? Do I have to? I was thinking of a figure in Ancient History... but if we must? Paris Hilton. So many people hate her for claims that she's no more than a slut. I disagree entirely. Just because she was a participant in a home sex video doesn't mean that she's less amazing really. People make home sex videos all the time, yet she's singled out because her one was released. If someone was to ask me whether home sex videos are ok or not, I'd say "whatever floats your boat" and "Have a spare copy?/May I film?". Now ask me whether Paris Hilton sex videos are ok and my answer stays the same. Best bit? She didn't become this huge, public emotional wreck after it was released. She held her head high and made Rick Solomon (bastard) pay the profits to charity.
8)Name a well-known person that you think is not unique - why aren't they unique? Jesse McCartney. Just another little boy gone wrong.
9)Tell us about one event that changed your life forever, in detail. The aforementioned visit to the Holocaust Museum. There is no way that I could live another day on this Earth without being reminded of the tragedy that was World War Two. The tragedy lives on today, because Europe has seen only one million new Jewish babies since the disaster and Hitler managed to kill six million. I saw the portraits, the videos of medical experiments, the aerial photos of Auschwitz... but one thing stuck in my head. A photo of a Nazi soldier about to shoot a catholic priest. The priest was just standing there, not quite defiantly, not quite angrily, just... with dignity. To this day, I remain unsure whether that photo was staged or not... it was so painful to watch.
10)If you could change one thing about this world, what would it be? Why? Nationalism. People have got to stop thinking that their country is so damn different and amazing to everyone else. That and pornography, needs more poetry in it.
11)What is your place in the world? Just to sway the people around me to lead lives that would do good for the people around them. Yeah.
12)Give us a metaphor to explain who you are a person. One with gods and men, to sow the seeds of love and happiness in all.

No.

I don't like you. But I liked your Nationalism bit. Agreed.

Sorry. I'd say it isn't personal, but I guess it kind of is, seeing as it is your personality.

Heh, yesh in retrospect it wasn't the *best* application I've ever written but what the hell, you can be a polite ass and still be unique.

No

I liked you up until you said why you were unique. Many people hate postmondernism and many people are Buddhists. Actually, i was slightly angered that you thought you were unique because you're a Buddhist. Sure, it's special, it's cool, but it sure as hell doesn't brand you as unique (I'm one too and have been for about 7 years or so).

The Holocaust Museum probably influenced many people in the way they thought and lived and planned to live in the future - just like you.

I liked your reply to your place in the world question but overall, sorry, i don't think you're unique.

No.

Re: No

It's less about the Buddhism and more about that amongst all the other things, but I see your point.
